Family Is the Foundation
for Change

Started by Chris and Lorraine (Sheehan) Wilson in 2012, the Wilson Sheehan Foundation exists to help advance lasting, positive change in the world. With the belief that strong families build strong communities, our goal is to empower women and children to achieve their full potential. We believe that education is the gateway to a better life and stronger communities.

We seek to support initiatives that help youth develop strong, marketable skills that are transferable to school, work, and life. By developing critical life skills, it is possible for families to create economic self-sufficiency in the hope of breaking stubbornly persistent cycles of poverty throughout the U.S. and beyond.

We are also interested in supporting initiatives that develop critical “soft” skills such as personal and emotional development, self-discovery, and personal responsibility that promote integrity, the capacity for creativity, and commitment to a world that is larger than self.

Why Start a Foundation?
Responsibility.

Responsibility was a primary driver in the creation of our foundation. For us, responsible charitable giving involves using resources efficiently and effectively. The Wilson Sheehan Foundation was created to apply our family resources—our money, our brainpower, and our time—responsibly.
